  • Overall operation of CC Station including all processing equipment as well as operating machines that perform one or more packaging/maintenance functions.
  • Hourly Rate $26.61  - $29.66

FUNCTIONS

   Primary Responsibilities/Essential Functions

  • Operates CC Station including all process equipment in assigned area.
  • Starts machine and observes operation to detect malfunctions of the machine.
  • Stops machine and reports malfunctions to supervisor.
  • Makes minor adjustments and/or repairs such as opening valves, changing forming and cutting dies, setting guides, or clearing away damaged product or jams.
  • Replenishes packaging supplies as necessary for continuous operation.
  • Recognizes and corrects inefficiencies in the machine.
  • May be required to operate manual feed and fill systems.
  • Perform quality checks at prescribed intervals to ensure the best quality products are being produced. It is the responsibility of the attendant to initiate documentation and provide signature to verify compliance with all required quality checks for the assigned machine.
  • Responsible for the cleanliness of the area assigned.
  • Must understand and be physically capable of following all the documented cleaning procedures for the machine where assigned and carry out said cleaning.
  • Must understand the basic operation of the code date printers on the machine to include but not limited to setting codes, replacing fluids, and cleaning the heads.
  • Must know how to perform basic calibration of the check weighing equipment and do so when necessary.
  • Monitor vacuum and air supply.
  • Visually inspect bags being produced on all machines for quality seals, weights, bag shape and dimensions and overall product appearance.
  • Perform minor adjustments and repairs such as: turn air pressure on, off, up, or down, repairing heads, washing machines, adjusting weights, and adjusting bag shapes.
  • Must know how to stop and restart system including packing machines, conveyor systems and evaporator systems. Must know how to jog systems.
  • Must know proper procedures for all Lockout – Tag out – Try procedures in the C.C. Station.
  • Must know location of all the stop buttons on all machines.
  • Must perform metal detector checks every two hours and sign metal detector sheet when task has been completed.
  • Must be able to adjust: horizontal seal temperatures, bag length, dump time, and bag tare.
  • Record all production and downtime on the proper forms.
  • Check code dates every hour and sign for verification.

 

Additional Responsibilities

  • Participates in the team effort to improve performance.
  • Ability to work overtime when needed.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education/Professional Certifications/Licenses

The following are the basic qualifications:

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED)

 

 

 

Experience

The following are the basic qualifications:

  • Minimum of one year experience operating industrial production equipment or machinery

 

 

 

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities (including any physical demands)

  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry.
  • While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

  • While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; moving mechanical parts; fumes or airborne particles; toxic or caustic chemicals; outside weather conditions; extreme cold; extreme heat; risk of electrical shock and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
