SUMMARY
This position is responsible for the supervision of the entire operation and personnel of a shift in the packaging area which involves Safety, Food Safety, Quality, Environmental, and Operations.
This position is a salaried rotating 12 hour shift position.

Education/Professional Certifications/Licenses
The following are the preferred qualifications:
- Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving capabilities and accomplishments preferred.
- Ability to analyze data and change work behavior preferred.
Experience
The following are the basic qualifications:
- Must have a minimum of 4 years of supervisory experience in a high-speed manufacturing environment.

- Five or more years of packaging experience in food industry
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities (including any physical demands)
The following are the basic qualifications:
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
- While performing the duties of this job, the associate is frequently required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms and talk or hear. The associate is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The associate must regularly lift and /or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
Equipment Used
- Computer and automated packaging equipment.
Working Conditions
- While performing the duties of this job, the associate is rarely exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, outside weather conditions, extreme cold, and extreme heat. The associate is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
Employee Supervision
- Directly supervises employees in the Packaging Department. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; communicating company information; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
Decision Making/Accountability
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations. Ability to understand servo/PLC driven equipment.
- Responsible, Self-Starting, and Self-Managing trusted business partner and accountable for the Packaging Shifts overall operation.
- Possess the ability to effectively work under pressure - being able to prioritize, multi-task and make quick decisions in a fast paced, rapidly evolving environment.
