Job Title: Student Trainee- Heavy Equipment Mechanic-Harvest

Position Summary:
The Career Development Program is a structured training pathway designed to develop future mechanics through a combination of formal education and hands-on experience. Candidates without prior technical training will complete a combination of company-sponsored schooling and on-the-job training for a total of three years. Candidates who have already completed a relevant trade school, certification, or mechanical program may enter directly into the on-the-job training portion of the program
All participants are expected to successfully complete assigned training requirements and demonstrate the skills necessary to perform in a mechanic role. Trainees represent the Company both in the classroom and in the field and are expected to maintain professionalism, accountability, and strong work ethic at all times.
Program Details:
- Company-sponsored tuition, tools, books, uniforms, and equipment (excluding transportation), as applicable
- Guaranteed 40-hour work week with potential for overtime based on business needs

Key Responsibilities:

- Complete all assigned training requirements, including coursework (if applicable) and hands-on job training
- Participate in on-the-job training assignments and demonstrate progression in mechanical skills and competencies
- Perform assigned duties under supervision, increasing independence as skills develop
- Follow all Company safety rules, policies, and procedures at all times
- Maintain regular attendance and effective communication with supervisors and program coordinators
- Successfully complete required certifications, testing, and evaluations
- Demonstrated ability to perform job duties safely and effectively
- Work performance, skill development, reliability, and overall contribution to the team
Qualifications:
Education / Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Relevant trade school, certification, or mechanical training preferred, but not required
Skills & Requirements:
- Mechanical aptitude and strong interest in equipment repair/maintenance
- Ability to pass Company-required assessments (mechanical aptitude, etc.)
- Valid driver’s license required
- Ability to pass pre-employment
- Strong attendance, reliability, and time management skills
- Ability to work in a team-oriented, safety-focused environment
Program Expectations & Commitment:
- Participants are expected to complete the assigned training path and meet all performance expectations
- Selected candidates will be required to sign an agreement outlining program expectations and post-training employment commitment
- Failure to meet performance, attendance, or training requirements may result in removal from the program
