The Industrial Skills Trainer is responsible for developing, coordinating, and delivering effective training programs aimed at improving the technical and operational skills of employees within our manufacturing facility. This position plays a critical role in ensuring that staff members are proficient in the safe operation of machinery, adherence to safety protocols, and maintaining a high level of production efficiency.
FUNCTIONS
• Training Development:
• Design, develop, and update training materials and programs tailored to the specific needs of the sugar manufacturing process.
• Focus on technical skills training related to machinery operation, troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, and safety practices.
• Ensure training programs align with company goals, industry standards, and regulatory requirements.
• Training Delivery:
• Conduct hands-on, classroom, and online training sessions for new and existing employees.
• Facilitate ongoing skill development workshops and safety seminars for various departments (e.g., Production, Maintenance, Quality Control, etc.).
• Provide one-on-one coaching or group sessions as needed to address performance gaps.
• Safety and Compliance:
• Ensure that all training programs incorporate safety procedures, compliance standards, and best practices for a safe working environment.
• Monitor and evaluate employee performance in relation to training and provide feedback on areas for improvement.
• Assist in maintaining certifications, compliance records, and reporting on training outcomes.
• Employee Development and Evaluation:
• Assess individual and team training needs through performance evaluations, employee feedback, and production metrics.
• Collaborate with department heads to identify skill gaps and develop targeted training plans.
• Track and report on training progress, effectiveness, and overall employee development.
• Continuous Improvement:
• Stay current on industry trends, best practices, and new technologies in manufacturing and training methods.
• Propose enhancements to existing training programs to improve efficiency, engagement, and results.
• Encourage a culture of continuous learning and improvement throughout the facility.
QUALIFICATIONS
Qualifications and Experience:
• Education:
• High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate’s degree or technical certification preferred.
• Experience:
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in an industrial manufacturing environment, with a focus on training, operations, or maintenance.
• Experience in sugar manufacturing or a similar process industry is highly preferred.
• Proven experience in designing and delivering training programs, including hands-on and classroom settings.
• Skills:
• Advance knowledge of Industrial Electrical and instrumentation on all types of machinery, maintenance practices, and safety regulations.
• Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to assess employee skill levels and develop customized training solutions.
• Familiarity with e-learning tools and training management software is a plus.
• Certifications:
• OSHA certification (or willingness to obtain) is preferred.
• Trainer certification (e.g., Train-the-Trainer) or similar credentials is a plus.
